Open Scholarly Communication

Open Access Policy

Lagaligo Press is committed to supporting broad and responsible access to scholarly knowledge and to facilitating the dissemination of high-quality academic publications.

1. Open Access Commitment

Lagaligo Press, an academic publishing imprint of Yayasan Lagaligo Education and Research Centre (LERC), supports the principles of open scholarly communication and the dissemination of academic knowledge.

Publications designated as open access by Lagaligo Press journals are made available online to readers without requiring a subscription to access the published scholarly content, subject to the copyright and licensing conditions applicable to each publication.

2. Access to Published Content

Readers may access, read, download, search, and link to openly available scholarly articles through the relevant journal platform, subject to the terms of the applicable license.

Open access is intended to facilitate the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research while maintaining appropriate attribution, copyright, and academic integrity.

3. Copyright, Licensing, and Reuse

Copyright and licensing arrangements may vary according to the journal or publication. The applicable copyright and license information is stated on the relevant article or publication page and should be observed when content is reused or redistributed.

Users who reuse openly accessible content are expected to provide appropriate attribution, preserve relevant copyright and license notices, and comply with the conditions of the applicable license.

4. Author Rights

Authors retain the rights provided under the applicable copyright and publishing agreement. Authors should review the specific copyright and licensing terms of the journal before submitting or sharing their work.

  • Authors should receive clear information about applicable copyright and licensing terms.
  • Authors may share or reuse their work where permitted by the applicable license or publishing agreement.
  • Appropriate attribution to the published source should be maintained when the work is reused.

5. Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit

Authors may be permitted to deposit or share their work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate scholarly platforms, subject to the copyright, licensing, and self-archiving conditions established by the relevant journal.

Authors are encouraged to retain the bibliographic information of the published version, including the article title, journal title, publication year, volume and issue where applicable, and persistent identifier when available.

6. Reader Rights and Responsibilities

Readers may use openly accessible scholarly content in accordance with the applicable copyright and licensing terms. Readers are expected to acknowledge the original authors and source when citing or reusing published material and to avoid any use that would misrepresent the original work or its authorship.

7. Free Online Access

For publications designated as open access, readers are not required to pay a subscription or access fee to read the published article online. Any applicable charges relating to publication, processing, or other services are governed by the specific policies of the relevant journal.

8. Transparency of Publishing Charges

Information concerning article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, publication fees, waivers, or other applicable charges is communicated through the specific journal's official website and author guidelines. Authors should consult the relevant journal before submission for current information.

9. Commitment to Equitable Scholarly Communication

Lagaligo Press supports equitable access to scholarly knowledge and recognizes the importance of reducing barriers to the dissemination and use of academic research. Open access is intended to strengthen scholarly communication, support knowledge exchange, and increase the visibility and potential impact of research.

10. Long-Term Accessibility

Lagaligo Press supports the long-term accessibility and preservation of published scholarly content through appropriate digital preservation, archiving, and repository arrangements, as described in the publisher's Deposit & Archiving Policy.

Our Open Access Commitment

Lagaligo Press is committed to advancing open scholarly communication by supporting accessible, responsible, transparent, and sustainable dissemination of academic knowledge.
